Stirling maintained their perfect record at the top of Division Two with a patchy display at Forthbank Stadium.

Their super-charged start saw them 2- 0 up after only 13 minutes as top scorer Scott McLean grabbed his seventh and eighth goals of the season, but an injury to McLean and lapses in concentration at the back allowed Berwick to battle their way back into the game.

Albion made a flying start with McLean finishing off a superb passing move by slotting home Paul Nugent's cut -back from close range. McLean struck again five minutes later from Martin Glancy's cross, scoring at the second attempt after his diving header had been blocked.

Glancy and Nugent went close to adding further goals for Stirling, and although Ian Little and Kevin Gordon briefly threatened for Berwick, the home team seemed totally in control at half time.

The second period was a different story, and Gareth Hutchison deservedly pulled a goal back after 63 minutes with a free header at the back post.

An unlikely comeback looked possible, but Albion closed the door 11 minutes later when a clumsy push by Elliot Smith on Glancy allowed substitute Connor Gethins to send keeper Gary O'Connor the wrong way from the penalty spot.
