Byers claims dramatic Forfar victory

Kevin Byers netted a 90th-minute screamer to earn Forfar a stunning 4-3 win against Stirling and move Ian Campbell's team four points away from the Scottish Second Division relegation zone.

Martyn Fotheringham's powerful header gave Forfar a 12th-minute lead and within three minutes Bradley Coyne had doubled the deficit with a sweetly-struck volley from the edge of the box.

Kevin Kelbie pulled a goal back for the visitors, the midfielder's effort finding the net in impressive fashion from distance after Graham Weir had teed him up.

Forfar's two-goal advantage was restored 50 seconds later when Christopher Templeman marked his return from injury by slotting in from a matter of yards.

Darren Smith produced a cool finish midway through the second half to give bottom-of-the-table Stirling hope and Mark Ferry thought he had earned his team a precious point a minute from time with a superb header from 12 yards.

But just over a minute later substitute Byers smashed past Callum Reidford in the Stirling goal to steal all three points for Forfar.
