#9 – Palmerston Park, Dumfries.

Away fans sit in comfort at Palmerston these days, in a new stand that replaced an unusual covered terrace that was there before. Through the 1970s and 80s it was seldom populated by more than a handful of fans – most seemed to prefer to stand behind the goal under the large covered terrace. Changing ends at half time at Palmerston could be a hazardous exercise back in the 70s, with both sets of fans funnelled through a narrow passage way at the back of the enclosure.

Despite the fact that the Terregles Street End, seems to be closed for all games these days, Palmerston remains one of the most atmospheric ground in the Scottish Leagues.
