#7 – The Old Main Stand, Ibrox.

Nothing much is left of the old main stand at Ibrox apart from the facade. The press box, enclosure and war of the worlds type floodlights are all victims of the ubiquitous skip. Albion did not enjoy the best of luck playing at Ibrox in the old days – 12 defeats and 2 draws in 14 visits. Since those days we’ve been there just once, for the League Cup tie in 1995 which although ending in defeat (2-3) was tremendously exciting.
Depending on your viewpoint the new Ibrox is either one of the best football grounds in Europe, or a sell-out of the traditional supporting values and ethos to naked commercialism and exploitation. Or maybe a bit of both.
